Surprise - Yes, it’s only Thursday. But with this horridly cold weather outside (Southside of Atlanta Georgia and it’s 25 degrees out there), I thought I would share an idea on how to make this cold day feel just a little warmer.

How about a nice warm bowl of Chili for dinner?

Ingredients
1 onion, chopped
1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
1 can each light kidney beans, navy beans, black beans, corn
2 cans diced tomatoes
2 cans tomato soup & 2 soup cans of water
1 tsp salt, ½ tsp pepper, 1 tsp basil
1 tsp chili powder, 1 bay leaf, ½ T parsley

Directions
In Dutch oven, fry beef with onion until onion is translucent
Add remaining ingredients. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes

 Suggestions for topping to add to the Chili Bar:  Tortilla Chips, Cheese, Sour Cream, Scallions, Bacon, Avocado, Banana Peppers, Diced Fresh Tomatoes, Jalapenos, and of course, don’t forget the beer.
You can also set out Ketchup, Mustard and Relish for the Hot Dogs
