Christmas - silver or gold?

I think it would be impossible to think of Christmas and not think of silver and gold.  These two colors are with us every day of the year but when Christmas time rolls around... they seem to step up and take Center Stage.  And just like the precious metal in our jewelry, we all seem to have a preference - silver or gold?

In the past, style dictated either/or... like our shoes matched our purse,... red wine served with red meat, the home's hardware is a uniform finish, etc.  Uniform is the optional word here.  We have finally developed a 'free will' on our choices... mix and match, I say.  Why settle for one when you can have both?
